My Cane

Everybody on the forum has been ragging me to make canes. Yikes. So, my pal in South Africa, Kay, forced me to make this cane. It's the very first flower cane I ever made. Most likely it will be the very last one, too. I also made this silly plug from the green/blue blend that is posted below... a few posts ago. I am very proud of myself. Pat, pat, pat on my back. :) How silly is that? I spend hours making this thing. I now have one long skinny cane of a mediocre flower. I could have made dragons! :D

Nice to find another jewelry/art/diy enthusiast in the islands. I'm just starting with polymer clay jewelry and basic silver working stuff. Really like the stuff you've shown in your posts. When I have somethings to show, maybe I'll send a link your way.

Moe-Can-Cane.
Sounds like the name of a mixed drink. Or if you imagine drums beating ominously in the background as you say it, a mystical chant ...
moe-can-cane ... moe-can-cane ...

what chu mean... maybe!? I'd love to see your stuff, Christopher! We polymer clay artists are horribly deprived here as there is almost nobody who does clay in Honolulu. When you say "basic silver..." do you mean wire wrapping or PMC? If I can help you with the polymer clay in any way, email me, ok?

Thanks, Stormy. I couldn't get a good picture. The petals are all wrapped and have definition but it didn't show. And what looks like dark spots is glitter. I don't know where that came from. You know how it just materializes, right? :D

Hee, thanks, Col. Hey... email me and tell me if you are still interested in trying clay. I am slowly getting goodies ready to send to you if you are. :D

Thanks, Kathi! I covered Angie's crochet hook. I'll post a picture later on. :) On the Forum where I will post my cane. :D

Definitely let you know when I actually got stuff to show, been too busy to finish anything lately. Been learning how to fabricate with silver, soldering rings n stuff. If it involves fire, its fun! I want to combine PC and silver into stuff a guy could wear, or at least something I would. Should be a challenge.

What fun, Chris! I look forward to seeing your creations. There aren't lots of choices for men so if you can make some cool masculine stuff, I say you have a big market! As men are wearing more and more jewelry, you can jump right in and get lots of customers! If you look at the Honolulu Academy of Arts site, they have Gordon Uyehara doing a PMC class in August. I hope I have his name right. Are you in Honolulu? The class is $110.00, methinks. He's doing a PMC class one day then the next, a PMC ring class.
:D
