Here are my other 2 dragons.  I got the idea for the standing dragon from Christi Friesen's book "Dragons".  I really need to make more dragons.  :D

The Culprits

Okey dokey... if you read the post before this one, you know the story of getting these done.  Here is the end result of all the trauma.
This is a terrible photo but you get the idea.  ;)  I had a bunch of these but I sold them all at my home fair yesterday.  YAY!  And I still have a bag full.  I'm not doing glitter again.  Guess why?

Why People Become Grinches

Man.  Why me?

Ok, I get these donuts from my friend.  Stone, not sugar.  Most of them are pretty cool.  However, a bunch are only fit to decorate your doghouse with.  And that's only if you hate your dog.

I spent 2 days separating out the good from the bad and the ugly.  I'm done and now have a ton of cool donuts and cabs to turn into jewelry.  But...what do I do with the rejects?  Well, in my mental decrepitude, I decide that I can paint them and turn them into Christmas ornaments.  Hah.

So, I gets out my Viva paint.  30 coats later, ok, the ornaments look ok, not great but ok.  I hang some crystals on them and I'm good to go.  The rest?  Well, I decide I should put glitter on them to cover the horrendous paint markings.  Whatever happened to paint that actually covered?  I got out my acrylics which will usually cover just about anything.  Nope.  I put on about 15 coats and they are still streaky.  Ok, glitter is the answer.  Hah.

So, I get out the Future and Future everything then glitter it.  Ok, so far, so good.  I even had the foresight to newspaper my kitchen counter top before I started.  I even covered a piece of cardboard so I could take the newly glittereds outside and spray gloss them.  Hah.

Earlier, I had toddled downstairs to see my favorite maintenance man Patrick.  He gives me some high gloss spray stuff/sealer.  Goody.  JUST what I need.  I get back upstairs and decide I will also glitter and spray our star that we hang on our door each year.  So, I go back downstairs and dig it out of the Christmas stuff and bring it upstairs.  So far, so good.

Out comes the Future and glitter.  Ok, I'm a happy girl.  All is glittered and ready to take outside.  Can you hear the IMPENDING DOOM music?

I get my glasses, the spray gloss, chopsticks, and the glittered things on their cardboard and head to the back stairs.  A small aside here.... out in back of our condo we have this humongous air conditioning thing.  It kind of resembles the Death Star.  But, almost nobody goes there so, I think this will be a great place to spray the glitterables.  I even ask Patrick if that's a good idea.  Yep, sez he.  Hah.

So, I fumble my way downstairs and out the back door all the while balancing my big cardboard that turns out isn't all that steady, the glitterables and the paint can.

I take the little path that leads me behind the Death Star.  Lo and behold, someone has left a heavy green container full of Death Star Juice that is just perfect for me to lift an edge, slide my chop stick under and put the donuts on it.  You were wondering what those chop sticks were for, weren't you?  Another aside here.  If you live in Hawaii, you cannot LIVE without chopsticks. They are good for about 20 billion uses.  AND...you can also eat with them.  Cool things chopsticks.

I blithely lift an edge of the DSJ only to find out that gruesome Death Star bugs have made nests in the handle.  EEEUUUUWWWWW!  While I am hopping around trying to rid myself of them, every single mosquito in eastern Oahu attacks.

Now, if you haven't experienced Hawaiian mosquitos, they are relentless and black.  They fly in formations and attack on command of their Taliban leaders.  Do you think my gyrations and hopping around deters them?  Not a whit.  Not only am I now covered in Death Star Bug pucky but I am also covered in voracious evil mosquitos.  Black ugly Death Star mosquitos.

So, I finally decide that I have anti itch stuff in the house so best get this done before they find my dried up carcass a month from now and wonder what happened.  Yeah, Brian, the Death Star got her.  We're sorry.

So, I spray everything and entomb several DSMs, while I'm at it.  I wonder if millennia from now paleontologists will find the evil things encased in gloss and wonder if it was some religious rite?  Most likely.  That's always the answer then the obvious escapes them.  Must be a religious rite.  Hah.

Anyway, now I am ready to head back into the building.  Let the fun begin.  We have these doors made of metal.  With those old fashioned locks that need a dog tag key to open them.  There is no way a 2 handed human can open these doors without using fully, both hands.  Now, I have both my hands full of cardboard and entombed DSMs.  So, I set my cardboard on the sidewalk, slap at 147 DSMs and make my way to the Door of Mordor.  Little do I realize that I have set my stuff about an arm's length too far away from the door.  *sigh*.

Ok, I get to the door and realize I can't reach my cardboard.  Crap.  So, I run out, drag the cardboard closer and run back to catch the door before it can close and lock me out.  Of course, this knocks over the spray can.  *sigh*.  I run back out, grab the can then run back.  I set the can off to the side near the door thinking it will be out of the way.  Hah.  I now know why my mother used to say the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

So, I push open the Door To Mordor again and run out.  While I am grabbing the cardboard, the door is closing and I hear...PLUNK...HISSSSSSSSSSS.  Oh shit.

In my wild door pushing, the spray can gets knocked over.  Does it roll away like any normal round can would?  No.  It has Death Star Mordor Evil in it and it wedges itself firmly into the door frame where the metal door is relentlessly crushing it.  High gloss spray is, well...spraying all over.  I am stuck with my glitterables and cardboard and high gloss is decorating the Door To Mordor and the sidewalk.  Lovely.  I try to clean it up.  Did you ever try to clean up spray gloss with a paper towel?  Don't.  No doubt those paleontologists will come up for a REALLY good story about encased mosquitos and bits of manmade paper.  Some religious rite, no?  Man, those primitive humans.  Good thing they are all dead.

By this time I am sweating, itching and generally not a happy girl.  I need wine but I haven't had any for ages so I'm still being good.  I get all my stuff to our front door where I fling out the dead gloss can and the cardboard.  I dump the ornaments on my table.  I still haven't looked at them but I do hang the star on the front door.  Looks good.   Hah.

So, I decide this escapade is worthy of a fun blog so I wash up then sit down to write this when what do I hear?  MeeeOOOOWWWW, thump!  Meeooooowwww, thump.  Oh, crap.  I go to see what the Spawn of Satan is up to.  She has decided that the star needs her attention and she is yeowling at it then jumping up to try and knock it off the door.  If it falls on her head, it will serve her right except I'll be cleaning up glitter until next June.

And you wonder why people become Grinches.  *sigh*.

Fun Beady Things

It seems like I have been working on these two pieces for a couple of decades now.  It's actually only been a few weeks.  I ran out of some supplies.  But yesterday I got everything I was waiting for and here are my latest.  I sure wish I could find more of those yellow jasper stones so I could make a bracelet and earrings.  Anyone have any good ideas about blending clay to make a dijon mustard color???  It's too orange in these photos.  :(
And I love this fluffy necklace.  I probably oughta make a pair of earrings to match this, too.  What do you all think??

Senior Moments and Bead Mats

This is my bead mat pre-senior moment.  This is what bead mats are supposed to look like, yanno?
This is my bead mat after a serious, brain-damage senior moment.  Here I was making angels.  I put glue on the edges of their wings so there will be no fraying.  Naturally, I tipped one angel over and she fell, wings first, onto my bead mat.  Well, crap.  Now I have wet glue on  my mat.  *Sigh*  So I decide to wash it.  Now, I have often washed my bead mats in the washer but, when I am sane, I put them into one of those little zippered lingerie bags.  Well, in my dementia, I just threw the mat into the washer.  THIS is the result.   So, this is your warning.  Either don't get old or have a little bag handy.  :D

Serious Neglect

Ok, I'm sorry.  I have neglected all you guys horrendously!  :::hangs head in shame and remorse::::  I've been getting ready for my craft fair.  And I finally finished my protea angel.  I love her!  :)  She's a Hawaiian queen protea flower that I dried.  :D

More Fun!

Now that I've freaked myself out by figuring out just how many days I have left until my craft fair season, I thought I'd better get on it and finish some goodies.  I was going to call this one, *Dawn in the Desert* but I decided on *Desert Mesa* instead.  I'm amazed at how light this piece is.  I was afraid it would be heavy but it's not at all.  Odd, that.  :D
And on a smaller scale.... a wire wrapped polymer clay and brass set.  I usually like the wild stuff but, for some reason, I love this brass set.  I think it's the earrings.  :D

Getting Ready For Craft Fair Season

Oh boy!  How did it get to be the middle of October already?  Hmmm?  Somebody tell me that?  But, to my great dismay, time is running out so I am diving in to all the goodies I have laying around and turning them into wearable art.

There's this nice lady in Turkey who has cool supplies and I got these agates from her.  Man, Turkey is SOOO far away from Hawaii!  :D
Ok, off to make more goodies!  :D

Bedtime Kitties

Allie just LOVES the bed.  She'd spend all day on it, I think.  Isn't she cute?  Ignore the gruesome color.  Nighttime shots don't come out too good.  :(
But look at Ipo in her Lump and Mole roles.  :D

Having Entirely Too Much Fun

Yanno how brain damage just "gets" you one fine day when you're not looking?  Well, I woke up one day and did the Happy Dance because life is good then...WHAM!...instant brain damage.  I decided, for absolutely NO good reason that I wanted to weave a Cellini spiral.  Now, for those of you who don't bead, lemme just tell you that altho they are gorgeous... Cellini spirals are kind of like soft steel when they are done.  They have the bendability of rebar.  :(  Anyway, I wanted to make one, so I did.

Naturally, it had to only be the focal because no way was it going to bend around anyone's neck.  So, I got out my Carolyn Good's color system and found the perfect clay match.  See those two little balls at the end?  heh, heh.  Don'tcha LOVE polymer?  So, here's my finished piece.  If I do say so myself...I love it. :D
And then I decided to mess around with powders and clay some more.  So I made a Pile Of Fall Leaves.  I love this, too.  Too bad we don't have fall here.

Angels and Royals

It's getting closer and closer to Christmas.  Can you believe that???  So, I am making protea angels.  I have a few protea flowers that I've been drying for the last few months.  Today I made my first one of the almost-Season.
She has the cutes mop of hair, doesn't she?  ;)
And I made this gorgeous earrings.  Don't they look like the Queen should be wearing them?  And royal purple, too.  ;)

Look Who Came Out Of Hiding!

The Bruce was so disgusting that flies were buzzing around him so I convinced him he'd feel ever so much better if he had a bath.  He and Bhaltair submitted to getting washed.  While I was washing Bhaltair, The Bruce got loose and look where he wound up.  SUCH a surprise!  :D  But look how happy he is!  :D
And then the little brat thought he could chew the cork out, I guess.  :)
Not quite so happy now, is he?  Cracks me up how The Bruce can change expressions.

TahhhDaaaahhhh!

See that cab I made in the last post here?  Well, here is the finished necklace set.  I am SOOOO happy with it!  >>>>:D  :D<<<<< (me, being happy).
And here is a set I made from my good friend Janell.  I've been trying to get this made for month and finally did it.  I had this blue moe-opal and we just couldn't get together on matching earrings.  I think Janell will like these.  ;D
And then I bought all this cool antiqued brass from a nice lady in Turkey!  How cool is that?  From Turkey to Hawaii.  Don'tcha just love the internet?  Anyway, I made this fun set today.

Keep tuned!  I'm on a roll!  xoxoxo

Some New Fun Stuff

I was messing around with the faux stone look.  And, (drum roll), I made a cane! YIKES!  Me!!  I was a VERY easy one.  I followed directions and still managed to screw it up so I made a couple beads.  But don't you just love that faux stone?  I do!  I'm going to try some other colors, too.

Ipo Again

Look at the little brat.  Isn't she just too cute?  I put that throw on the chair because I had washed it and the center wasn't quite dry.  Ya think I should have figured out that Ipo would want to nap there?  :)

Our new lanai chairs are now Ipo's favorite place to be. Allie still likes her mommy's reading/beading chair the best.  How can she breathe like this?  :D

A Rant

Normally, I don't use my blog here for anything but funny stories, cute kitty pix and to show you the stuff I'm making.  But today I am going to rant and hopefully, warn you guys not to buy this product.

The product is the Schticky brand roller thing to pick up pet hair.  We bought one from Amazon and it worked great for 3 entire days.  Then it was no longer sticky and therefore, useless.

I emailed the Schticky people and they said basically, oh, we can't help you, you need to call.  So, I called.  I got this guy with a heavy accent who informed me that no, Schticky does NOT stand behind their product unless you buy it from them and then they want another 8 bucks in postage.  I asked the guy twice...so, you do NOT stand behind your product simply because I bought it from Amazon.com.  He said, yes, that's right.  I said thanks and hung up and went to Amazon who kindly sent me a mail back label and will refund our money.

So, friends, please do NOT buy a Schticky product.  It's a piece of crap.  My friend bought one, too, and had the exact same problem.  Her's lasted 3 days, also.  I say boycott, at all costs, this lousy product and please tell all your friends not to waste their money.
Ok, no more rant.  :)

Ear Cuffs

One of my wire magazines had the coolest directions on how to make ear cuffs.  I think they are fun so I made some.  :D  I do believe I will make many colors.  What fun!

A New Table and a Dancing Lady

The other day we decided we needed a new lanai table.  We took our old one and left it at the Disappearing Shelf.  No matter what we put out there, it disappears in a couple hours.  Sure enough, the table was gone in a couple hours.  Goody.  Now someone has our happy green table on their lanai.

So, we went to Pier 1 and lo and behold there was the cutest sunflower table.  So we bought it and 2 matching chairs and toted them home.  What a disaster. The nuts were all a hair too small to fit on the bolts and the nuts to cap off the bolts were way too short and the bolts were too long.  So today we took it back.    Tempting fate, we merely exchanged it for a new one.

I fortified myself with lunch then decided to put it together.  Hooray!  It all fit and we have a new table and chairs.  Ipo decided to check it out and she approves.  Isn't it cool that our bright yellow cushions fit the new chairs perfectly?:D

Then I got out my wire and made this fun little dancing elf.

Cool Mint

Don'tcha just want a mint julep and a hand fan?  Maybe a parasol? :D  I finished this last night and love it!  Usually I'm not a pastel kind of girl but this one... hmmm, maybe it's the mint julep I like so much.  :D

The Kitties and A Rainbow

Look at the bookends.  Aren't they cute?  I don't know what got into Ipo acting like a normal cat.  :D
It was a rainy day yesterday so B decided to take some pictures from our window.  The rainbow is looking across the street and the blue is a bit of our pool.  Look at all those delicious smelling plumerias!  So pretty!

Fourth of July

My friend Janell wanted a 4th of July set.  She left it up to me except she wanted stars.  LOVE that girl!  She loves bling as much as I do so this is what I made for her.  I used glitter clay for the stars and lots f Swarovski crystals.  :D

Where's Ipo? and Other Fun Things

The other day I couldn't find Ipo.  As I was searching...I HAVE to know where that little Spawn of Satan is because if she's too quiet, she's getting into trouble... I looked at my breathing comforter that I'd left out in case I was struck by a nap.  :)  Sure enough.  Signs of SOS.  Is that just too cute?
And , I have been awfully remiss in blogging.  I decided that it was way past time to do something about my online shops.  So, my poor long suffering niece Col volunteered ( you DID volunteer, right, Col?) to make me new shops as the good people at Etsy were running screaming every time they saw an email coming in from me.

Anyway, I made (COL made) new specialty shops for me!  So, I have spent the last couple weeks doing nothing but taking pictures and listing things.  I forgot to look but I'm pretty sure Col put links to the shops over there>>>> at the right.  but here are the URLs just in case.
www.etsy.com/shop/AlohaMoeBracelets
www.etsy.com/shop/AlohaMoeEarrings
www.etsy.com/shop/AlohaMoeSets
www.etsy.com/shop/AlohaMoeNecklaces
www.etsy.com/shop/AlohaMoeGifts
www.etsy.com/shop/AlohaMoeBeads
Is this great or what?  Specialty shops.  When I am looking for something, I found that I don't want to look through 17 pages of unrelated stuff.  The attention span of a gnat, yanno?  So now, If I wanted to buy a cool pen or a brooch, I'd just go to AlohaMoe Gifts and poof!  There they are.
I just listed a couple things.  I wonder what category I'd list Ipo in?  :D
