The Resin Result

Well, I don't know about this.  Here is the bracelet.  Any of you who use resin... chime in here, ok? Why did the powders kind of sink to the bottom (well, it's the top in these pictures)?  I thought resin was supposed to hold items suspended in the matrix?  Powder isn't very heavy. And I mixed it quite well.  It looked perfect in the mixing cup but it seems to have settled to the bottom of the bracelet.  I have no idea why. Maybe I should have just used more?  But then, I'd think I'd just have a heavier concentration at the bottom then.  Now, all things considered, I kind of like the less to more look.  Guess I can't complain too much.  It's my first try.  :D

I had so much fun reading this post. How many times have I done something like this? You're definitely a Lucy (as opposed to an Ethel) And the bracelet looks good. Maybe not what you wanted, but good.

Thanks, Martha! I am going to brave the world of resin again tomorrow. I had to lay on my couch and drink wine and fan myself to recuperate from my harrowing bangle experience. :D

yanno Ipo, I *LIKE* the way the powders did their dark on one side to light on the other. I think this is a happy accident.

I think you're right. I like it, too. It just threw me off as I thought stuff hung suspended in the resin. :)

Hi Moe,
Nice bracelet! As for the Envirotex Lite, I do believe that I still have a box of that that I bought HERE many years back. For the life of me, I can't remember where I bought it.

I got it thinking I would use it to fill in little polymer clay saimin/ramen bowls of noodles!

Aloha,
Jainnie

I like my new bracelet Moe :0}..
It looks so smooth did you have to do anything to finish it?

Darn now I'm going to have to get some resin to try.....

Jainnie! Wrack your brain! I can't find it anywhere. Altho... maybe Hardware Hawaii in Kailua? They have everything. The saimin bowls sounds adorable! :)

Well, I sanded a couple spots that weren't totally smooth. This, naturally, made a mess of the already not very shiny finish so I put 2 coats of Minwax on it and now it's all shiny. This is not to say that one day in the foreseeable future it might not melt off your wrist, tho. :D
